The map was built from proprietary data gathered by the Shop My Exchange team over five years. It includes more than 1,400 installations and their associated exchange stores. The underlying dataset undergoes quarterly updates, but we added a caveat: the coverage map does NOT support addresses outside the United States if you are not eligible for a military ID. Initially we tried to populate the map with every department store and concessionaire, but we found that 1,200 records lacked geocoding, so we limited it to exchange stores with confirmed addresses. The data does not cover temporary express units in remote training areas; sample size was limited to installations with a permanent retail presence.
