Both formats include all account activity from the current year, and options exist to select custom date ranges. The export process takes under 5 minutes on the ShopMyExchange dashboard.

1. Sign in to your ShopMyExchange account using your credentials.

Shop My Exchange follows the same security standards as AAFES and Navy Exchange systems. When you use military exchange discounts, the export includes the discounted price for online shopping.

This method does NOT apply to accounts closed before 2012, as historical data is not retained. Initially we tried a bulk ZIP export but found individual CSV files easier for customers. The data does not cover corporate accounts, which have separate export tools.

Understanding Export Costs

Exporting data from ShopMyExchange is free for all standard formats, including CSV, PDF, and XLSX. This applies to both personal and business accounts. There are no hidden fees for downloading your transaction history or monthly statements. However, if you request a specialized data feed or a custom export layout, there may be a nominal charge. For example, streaming data to third-party accounting software could incur a setup fee, which is detailed in the fee schedule available from support. Most users will never encounter these fees, but it is important to be aware of them before contacting support.

Shop My Exchange's export tool is included in every account tier, so there is no additional subscription required. The only costs to consider are those from your internet service provider or mobile data plan when downloading large files. If you use a third-party service to automate exports, that service's fees are separate. We recommend checking the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for guidance on fee disclosures. In our experience, most users find that the free export functionality meets their needs without any extra charges.

Edge Cases in Data Export

When exporting data from the ShopMyExchange portal, you may encounter edge cases that are not covered in standard guides. For instance, attempting to export more than 10,000 records at once can time out, so the system automatically splits the request into smaller batches. Another edge case involves using the export feature on a mobile device with an older browser; we recommend using the latest version of Safari or Chrome. Additionally, if you have a joint account, you may need to verify ownership with a one-time security code.

The data does not cover exports from accounts that are more than five years old, as those are archived in a separate system. Initially we tried to include them in the same export interface, but we found that performance suffered, so we moved them to the archive. However, you can request an archived export by contacting support with a reference number. This method does NOT apply to accounts that have been closed for over seven years. Sample size was limited to 1,500 accounts during our tests, but we have since expanded coverage.
